“Home of the Stream Engine™”
Buy directly from the inventor and manufacturer.

“This is a very cool machine. It represents a major breakthrough in micro hydro design.  Over most of its power curve, it will outperform a standard alternator by 15-30%.”

“During peak flows at my hydro site, I got 280 W from a Turgo driven alternator fitted with a specially wound stator for low head. With the new ES&D PM field Stream Engine, output increased to 325W. That’s a 15% increase at a less than optimum hydro site. Can I find a use for those extra watts?  You betcha!”

Off Grid homes powered by a Stream Engine

-Thanks for our power!! Great little machines.  J, BC

-I have installed your system without incident, all went very well and has been operating for a few weeks now. I’m sending a couple photos (I think). We are very satisfied with your product.
Your manual left very little to the imagination, (thank you very much) nicely
done and well presented. I found your responsiveness (even before there was a
sale) to on going emails good, this is what kept us involved with your product.
You have delivered an excellent product from start to finish.
We seem to be experiencing an improvement in output of about 60% over the wheel
we were using. No changes to the water system took place.   R. BC

-I presently have one of your stream engines and I am very happy with it.  P. NL

-Thank you for your incredible little machine!

We have had our Stream Engine for 14 months now and it is a flawless, quiet and reliable unit.  We live way off grid so the investment was more than worth it.

I started my micro hydro experiment 10years ago with a pelton wheel and an alternator. When we found out about your Stream Engine we had to get one. It was one of the smarter decisions I have made.

Thanks again for your great little invention.  JML  BC

-Your Stream Engine is a godsend!  We kept our backup generator for two years but never needed it so we sold it. JJ

-It’s wonderful, you should call it the Dream Engine! RF NY

On grid home using an LH1000 to power a water and air heater

I estimate I am getting about $45/month of power at my local rates, so payback is about 6 years considering the 10 wet months it is in use.

This project has been a lot of fun and people are amazed at how small your
turbine is considering the output.

An on grid home using solar and hydro

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for the support and great workmanship in your stream generator.

We have had very good experiences with the turbine. Just visit us one day, so
you can see where your machines help making peoples life easier!  Kind regards.

An off grid mine in the Yukon

YabadabaDoo, in the powerhouse and hear the
Stream Engine running, it sounds like a precision piece of machinery. It is
incredible when you can put the fuel you have used to power your life back to
the earth where it naturally belongs. It is an incredible feeling to see water
you use to produce the power you live off of and not hurt it in any way, it’s a
good feeling, seeing the aquatic life, you capture the energy and let it free.
It’s a good feeling not to be using diesel fuel.

In the first few years at the mine, food was kept cold with a propane fridge, cooked on a propane stove, and water heated with a propane water heater. If you wanted to take a
shower or read a book, you needed power to pump the water up from McDame Creek
or turn on the lamp (unless you had very good eyes, or it was near the longest
day of the year at the end of June!). So, the only alternative was to run the
diesel generator – at a cost of around $50 a day. And this was when you could
still afford to buy fuel…

Life’s a little different now. Lights and TV are available with the flick of a switch. Cooking
and hot water still mostly requires burning some propane, but there’s an
electric fridge and freezer to keep things cool and frozen. The water is no
longer pumped up from the river – it just flows through camp at the rate of
about 5 liters per second. This has been made possible with the addition of a
water turbine generator system. A Stream Engine from Energy Systems and Design.
